AMERICA'S WORST COOKS GET RESCUED BY JESSICA SEINFELD

below are some comment about the show

Jessica is as cute as a button!! And good for her for creating and being inspired even though she's married to a super talented, wealthy man. Women, often times, are defined by their husbands and for Jessica to carve out her own identity with a guy like Jerry Seinfeld must have been difficult. Good for her for utilizing her skills and abilities and not becoming some fluffy housewife like so many other women married to successful men. I'm glad she wasn't deterred but what other people think as there are many other working moms who find her book extremely helpful!

Well...I just ran to the grocery store b/c today was the day i was going to make Jessica's roast chicken-no joke, I think everyone in my area did the same!! there was one package of rosemary left and the small red potatoes were almost finished!! It took no time at all...it is in the oven as I type. I will keep you posted as I am sure it will be delicious! I am a huge fan of Oprah and I am loving her topics this season!!

Sure it helps people to learn to cook when someone comes to their house to help them, but how does her book do that!? Everything she did on the show was easy, you can learn more by watching any cooking show, but how does that help a busy family? How does that help when you're following a recipe and it's not working or when you realize in the middle of making something that you're missing an ingredient or don't know how to do something in the directions? For that you need a Kitchen Hotline.

AGING BEAUTY: CYBILL SHEPHERD, DYNASTY'S LINDA EVANS AND DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES' TERI HATCHER

8 Ways to Feel Beautiful from the Inside Out
I have learned a lot about what makes women feel attractive as they age. And by that I don't mean which over-the-counter remedy works best or how to get just the right nip or tuck that leads to looking like a model on a magazine cover. What I mean is what really works from the inside out for real women who want to look great at any age.

Having worked inside the world of beauty—as a Wilhelmina model in the '70s—I discovered trade secrets from women whose lives were all about looking the best they could. (Yes, our objective then was to make it to the cover of those magazines!) As a psychologist for more than 20 years, I came to have a different goal: to help women understand themselves so they could feel and look their best. My two careers led me to write Face It, a book exploring the psychological answer to, "What really makes women feel attractive for life?" I interviewed hundreds of women—current and former models, psychologists, corporate execs, stay-at-home moms and women from all walks of life. Their responses revealed a number of surprising similarities and are summarized in these eight psychological tips that work from the inside out.

1. Show Confidence Inside and Out

The most frequent comment I heard from the women interviewed was that beauty is about confidence. The comment resonated with something Wilhelmina Cooper (the founder of Wilhelmina Models) told me the first day I worked with her agency. She said, "The chances of booking work for us rises the minute you take on an air of confidence, no matter what you look like." I learned pretty quickly that success as a model wasn't about being the prettiest—everyone was. Or about being perfect—no one was. It was about how you carried yourself and how self-assured you appeared. So it is for all women at any age. Holding your head up high, with poise and self-confidence, is probably the number one quality that women say leads to feeling and looking beautiful at any age.

2. Focus on What You Do Have, Not on What You Don't

The sum is not always greater than the whole of its parts. Sounds counterintuitive, but when it comes to feeling beautiful, it's important to keep this in mind. Women who focus on features they like (rather than those they don't) and use them to serve their self-image are more likely to say they feel attractive. It is well known in the fashion industry that some models are branded for their great legs or long necks. They use these assets to feel beautiful. Sometimes only their hands or feet are considered marketable material. Take a look at yourself and choose one feature you like and embellish it. Delicate wrists? Wear an eye-catching watch. Thick hair? An elegant headband or jeweled clip can draw attention where you want it. Good posture? Standing tall can make everything else about you look and feel more attractive.
3. A Radiant Smile Works Wonders

A woman's smile is reported as the single most important physical feature that leads to being viewed as attractive. Women say it conveys what they call their inner beauty. This, too, resonates with my experience as a model, as well of the experiences of many of those I spoke to. We all know women who draw positive attention toward themselves because of their great smiles. Think of a baby's smile. Does anything bring more pleasure to the eyes of others than that spontaneous toothless grin? Women talk about using their smiles to bring what they feel inside to their exterior, regardless of their age. A generous smile is the best facelift you can have. Even better? It's free and natural.

4. Reinvent Your Look

Flexibility is key. Instead of holding onto old definitions of beauty or feeling anxious about change, women who find fun in reinventing their style are able to feel attractive as they age. Holding on and holding back looks tight and tense. Moving forward and letting go appears relaxed. Remember, letting go of your former self-image doesn't mean neglecting yourself. It's like learning to enjoy walking when you may have jogged in the past or taking yoga in place of Spinning class. A flexible attitude toward beauty leads to the ability to adjust your style and fashion sense and is key to enjoying your looks at any age.
5. Sensuality from Sixteen and Sixty

As we get older, we may leave behind unlined faces and bright teeth, but we never have to leave behind our abilities to connect to others in a sensual way. Many women who were interviewed said that sensuality was equated with feeling and looking attractive at any age—from teenage years to midlife and beyond. Models I talked to agreed. During photo shoots, models are often told to "make love to the camera" because photographers know pictures can look cold and dull no matter how beautiful a woman is. Safety pins may pull at a model's clothes and fans may blow wind into her face, but she has to look into the eyes of the photographer in an alluring way to get a good shot. Women who report feeling attractive as they age say they never forget their capacity to be sensual and hold onto it into their 60s and beyond.

6. Leave Competition Out of Beauty

It's important to remember that beauty is about looking the best you can for your age rather than competing with others. Successful models whose careers last the longest learn that lesson early on. From the day they start working, there is another younger model ready to take their place. So they cope best by looking forward, not sideways or backward. Theirs is an exaggerated and intensified version of what many women experience when they compare themselves to younger women. Women who say they feel attractive as they age are interested in looking and feeling healthy, robust and vital, not younger. They don't focus on having the smoothest skin, the thinnest waist, plumpest lips or the youngest body. They feel like winners, not because they come in first in a competition, but because they get out of a race they know they can't win and channel their energy into achieving their personal best.
7. Replace Anti-Aging with Healthy Aging

The words "healthy aging" have always made a lot more sense than "anti-aging," the catchphrase that has become so popular in the media and cosmetic industry. What does anti-aging mean anyway? How do women feel when they are told that the key to looking beautiful is equated with not getting older? As a model, there is enormous focus on keeping the aging process from showing on your face and body. Plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures have become common practice for women in the public eye to ensure a youthful look. Women who talk about feeling and looking attractive as they age focus more on prolonging the health of their bodies and skin rather than stopping the clock by trying to "fix" themselves. They adapt to the changes they see. In the end, feeling attractive is based on how you experience your looks, no matter what you do or don't do to your face and body.

8. See Yourself as an Example for the Next Generation

Perhaps the best tip I heard from the women who age gracefully is that they see themselves as role models for the next generation. They feel a responsibility to demonstrate that being attractive at midlife is not only a possibility, but that the meaning of beauty can be broadened and deepened with age. These are women who don't panic as their looks change, so their bodies and faces appear calm and relaxed. At social and professional gatherings, they show the kind of poise and grace they want their daughters and younger colleagues to emulate. They say they owe it to themselves and others to look forward optimistically to the years that lie ahead so that they pass on that kind of confidence to others. Strength and beauty is reflected proudly on their faces and bodies for all to see.

REMEMBERING JOHN F. KENNEDY JR.

On what would have been his 50th birthday, we remember America's prince and the interview that hasn't been seen in 14 years—John's life, death and legacy.

See some Comments about Him

Just saw the tribute to John Kennedy Jr., tomorrow for Oprah, it made my day! Even though it will be right after the dinner, if it's done early, I won't miss it. I loved all he seemed to stand for. He was definately one of our most handsome men this world will see, and I am sorry if this comment will seem rude to some. When I played the clip and I thought of the tragedy, my mind goes back to "why wouldl his wife need 3 pedicures", she was late, having her toes redone while the sun went down. Knowing he was not instrument panel trained, leaving three hours late was like flying into a wall when he hit the sea. What was she thinking, was he leaving her for the brunette? I know she perished, but I can't forget her behavior that day, come on ladies, at the most, if we smudge one we fix it, not have it redone causing such a delay!!!Much love to Oprah, I loved garth today!!Kbujold

When i think of the tragedies that has trailed the Kennedies, my heart breaks, and i have wondered why it happened that way. We may not be at liberty to question such, though... It really hurts. I wish JFK Jr. was here today. His life inspires determination in me to the extent that i know that failing on certain areas of ones life repeatedly does not mean one cannot get those areas right anymore. Hard work and focus that underlined JFK Jr.'s life, is key to achieving any desired result. God bless you Oprah and may the souls of the departed Kennedies continue to rest in peace. Amen
Looking back at age 70, I realize how much my has be so touched and changed by the Kennedy family. I lived in Washington DC when President Kennedy was ingurated and when he was killed. Early on I stood in long lines to see a glimpse of him and later to give my respect, to honor and to thank him for all he stood for and how I wished he could have lived a very long life. My heart was broken. The hope he inspired in my life was carried forward and I had dreamed that his son JFK,Jr. would somehow when he was ready carry on in the tradition of his father and be one of our presidents. Again my heart was broken. I know that so many others feel like me. All of these losses have inspired me to be a better citizen and I am so much more active in supporting rights for all people and being proactive for a better America than I would have been without the Kennedy influence. I can say the same for you Oprah. You have changed and educated me in ways I cannot began to explain here today. Thank you so much for all those years. There will be a big hole in my life without your program. The tears are too heavy now I must stop. Thank You.

Have no regrets ... O I remember this show like yesterday...I used to be a regular in your old chat room ... your mediator made a contest of trying to guess who your first guest of the season was going to be... after a few of us made unsuccessful attempts - I finally got it.. JFK jr.. you even used my question in your introduction - it was I that asked if you were going to be nervous... hard to believe that it was 14 years ago....Life has changed so much since then....May all have a great day of thanks,,, and to you - Thank You for all you have given to us over the years

more later ........

Do You Believe in Miracles?

Millions are flocking to a tiny Brazilian village to be healed by a farmer with no medical training and little education. Is he performing miracles? Get firsthand accounts from skeptics and believers.

Here are some comments about the show
I live with a miracle every day. My son was diagnosed with a rare and deadly bone cancer at 15, prognosis grim, amputation the probability. While they did remove his shoulder and humerus and implant a prosthetic device, he's defied all odds and continues to play the violin, (his passion). He auditioned like everyone else and made it to Carnegie Hall and just last week performed at the new Disney Times Square Store. He spends much of his time, giving back to the community, especially cancer causes and appreciates how blessed and miraculous his recovery is. He is a true inspiration!

As I travel back and forth from Southern California to Abadiania and the Casa De Dom Inacio, it occurs to me that the American Media doesnt really address the most important element at work there. There are hundreds and even thousands of people coming together each day to pray for themselves and others. This place, Abadiania Brazil, is located on a huge crystal plate. Medium Joao and all the people who are called there awaken to our Spirit helpers and give them permission to release all of our blocks and darker energy. We are all Mediums according to Alan Kardec, some more developed than others. I have been to the Casa many times where have been over 2000 people seen that day. There are hundreds of people sitting in their seats and in the lines at the Casa in Prayerful Meditation. All have come to Ask for help and pray for help for others. The physical operations are what the Media seems to want to bring out as the experience there. The richness of the Journey to John of God and the Casa is the extraordinary LOVE that is present there and the intention of large numbers of people sitting on that Crystal Plate with Strong Mediums who are bridging the Spirit world to allow the flange of Spirits who incorporate there to help. Thank YOU CASA DE DOM INACIO and Meduim Joao and all of the people who come to release and heal.

ive years ago I went to Brazil to see John of God. I was there for two weeks and had surgery twice on ailments that had plagued my life since I was a child. This trip was as it turned out one of the most extraordinarily experiences in my life. I had a miracle and witnessed countless others. The spirit experience was the deepest ever and I would go again just to be present for others and myself to reconnect to that level of spirituality. Blessings come and we do not know why or for whom this bell will toll. He is just a regular guy when he is not in trance allowing spirit to use him to help those that are meant to be healed. I was there when 60 minutes did their expose on him and I had many experiences with the crew that filmed that story. Delighful journey! Eat Love Pray

I am a strong believer in the minds capacity to heal in any way that works for them. I have a Masters in Psychology, and a succesful 14 yr profession as a Creative Director. I participate in several Eastern and Western Medical techniques for fibromyalgia and Lupus (I was just diagnosed) . Right now I cant work and this is very new to me. My life for the past year has been a mixture of both. I believe that Eastern Medicine works but only for a short period, a couple of days to a week. When you are suffering you learn to do anything it takes to get some relief. People travel, spend thousands of dollars to put wear white, meditate (which I strongly believe helps) and decide on a spiritual or medical surgery. My sister and her friends go and swear by it. Whatever helps and I think only you and your body can answer that question. As far as John of God and from a clinical standpoint? I think it's nuts and very frightening. I see people leave in better shape then when they come back. Any type of collective spiritual groups can get out of hand. I think its dangerous and only a matter of time before this guy ends up in prison or killing someone. My own sister came back recently after a spiritual surgery and not only could she not carry her bags off the plane but was bed ridden for weeks. My family is worried and noone knows how to approach her. Seven years of this, and she distanced herself completely from the family. Hey if he can get rid of my illness right now I would like proof!

Thanks for listening galatians6. I wasn't sure if I got my point across but based on your reply I definitely did. I also see my sister using a pendulum just to pick out a meal. It is very hard to watch. It seems like there is an inability to trust yourself to make your own decisions. Dont get me wrong, I absolutely believe in whatever works for each individual. Like I said I seek both Eastern and Western medicine and find both have positive and negative qualities. I have also seen one family member die ignoring Western medicine with breast cancer. That was her decision. She still however didnt hid from family members and travel to Brazil to seek help she just didnt want to suffer the therapies Western medicine had to offer and I can understand that and of course it is always hard to watch. Something isnt right in all of this and I really hope Oprah shows both sides tomorrow for the safety of those who put their lives in the hands of one man. I am a very opened minded person and if this frightens me enough to even join this board or take time out while I myself am battling some health problems, I hope others are aware as well. I hope something good comes out of this and that maybe some eyes will open up to this very dangerous treatment where the only support is others who have traveled great lengths to possibly be in a harmful place as well. I agree, why go to such great lengths to make others believe?

WHOOPI GOLDBERG AND 25 YEARS LATER: THE COLOR PURPLE REUNION november 15, 2010

Read it all The Comments about this upcoming show

Oh, how I wish I could see The Color Purple reunion show. Due to financial strains, I gave up my television service months back. However, I am a "Purple" FAN. I even own the old turquoise, cast iron, wood kitchen stove that was used in the production of the movie. One of the porcelain oven handles is broken from when Danny kicked it during shooting. I cherish the item, but have often wondered if selling it to Oprah would help to pay for my Ph.D. that I am pursuing. After teaching special education classes for nearly 30 years, I am loving being a full-time student again. My dissertation research focuses on the importance of teaching social skills to everyone and how that influences self esteem. Peace Love & SMILES to ALL :-)

I love it! I love that Oprah included this show in her last season. Good for you Oprah! I love you and Whoopie!

I'VE ALWAYS BEEN ANGRY THAT WHOOPI HAS NOT BEEN ON OPRAH OR WASN'T AT THAT BALL ORAL HAD FOR THE WOMAN OF COLOR. I THINK WHOOPI IS ONE OF THE MAIN WOMEN IN SHOW BUSINESS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PRESENT BECAUSE OF THE DIFFERENCE SHE MAKES IN HOLLYWOOD AND IN SHOW BUSINESS IN GENERAL. A WOMAN WHO PULLED HERSELF UP FROM NOWHERE AND WENT ON TO BECOME AN ICON TO SAY THE LEAST. CAPTURING AWARDS IN ALL MAJORS FEILDS, AND BEING THE ONLY WOMAN BLACK OR WHITE TO DO JUST THAT. YES, GRAMMY, TONY, EMMY, ACADEMY AWARD, PEOPLE CHOICE, AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE. THAT DESERVED MUCH RECONGNITION FROM US ALL. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF WHOOPI GOLDBERG BECAUSE SHE AS I SAY A REALALIST WHO'S NOT AFRAID TO BE HERSELF NO MATTER WHAT OTHERS THINK. SO THANK YOU OPRAH FOR FINALLY HAVING THIS GREAT WOMAN ON YOUR SHOW AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. I GUESS IT TOOK YOU LEAVING TO SAY "COME ON OVER TO MY SHOW" HUH

DONAHUE, SALLY, GERALDO, MONTEL, RICKI: TALK SHOW HOSTS TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME

Here Are Some Of the Comments About This Show

When am I going to be able to hear a response to the fact that I had called 9-11 over stalkfull foreigners before 09/11/01, and have found numerous songs having been written with personal information of my family and I ??? What is with MIB2 having said that michael jackson can't be an agent? He had attended the same kingdom hall that I attended of different years and I can clearly remember talking of my concerns of his song titled billy jean with oprah.com's blog postings before he died.Same as I called the radio stations and 9-11 after I found an offensively finatical statue in front of the roswell public library. I don't like the way the news denies people the option of building their own impressions of what had happened because he did find a doctor who would listen to his hounding idea's of taking the extra strong drugs. I'm not willing to respect peoples common idea's of ignoring concerns from people who were involved with serious issues because everytime they do something drastic happens on account of outraged response. The more it's all ignored is the more outraged peoples opinions will be and having something to show for work being or having been done is all that will leave people feeling reassured with the system of justice here in the United States. I noticed that a recent attempt to kill people with a bomb inside an suv in NYC was stopped by a witness to the scene. President Obama has enough respect for people to know that doing what's right is encouragable.

Thank You for saying something, most of the time I feel as though I'm watching my comments mysteriously disappear no matter who I try talking with. It's all a lot more concerning than that paragraph has to say yet I'm trying to make sure to say it lightly. 7 0r 8 songs, A movie and at least one cartoon that I've found, and most of the music is offensive, death metal is one type of music group that participated in the identity theft and they were clearly the anti-government type. I guess I shouldn't give the names of the groups according to current guidelines of Oprah's sites and oprah.com is not the only source of outreach that I looked into. I was expecting to give michael a chance to explain with a comment or two and to have my stories and voice heard. I wish he hadn't decided to take the extra strong medicine because it is a sad fact. I'm suffering from a few losses of close relatives within the past 3 years.

I 'm really excited about this great reunion of show hosts, before I read who would be attending the reunion, the first person I thought of was Phil Donahue, I almost never missed his shows, I remember watching his show when he was interviewing Marlo Thomas, his ex-wife, I saw the chemistry between those two. I will be glad to see Phil again, can't wait to see the show.
